Gift from the Heart

Christmas is for love. It is for joy, for giving and sharing, for laughter, for reuniting with family and friends, for tinsel and brightly decorated packages. But mostly, Christmas is for love. Yes, Christmas is for gaiety, mirth and song, for good and wondrous gifts. But mostly, Christmas is for love.
December is the busiest time of the year.  Everyone's busy preparing for the holidays and continuing family traditions.  Looking at local department stores filled with shoppers to grab some last minute Christmas gifts, make me grumble to myself, Aw, I wouldn’t want to be in there forever and I just had so much to do.  I’m beginning to, like, Christmas was becoming such a drag and wished that if I could just sleep the night through.
But I've learned that a heart grows from life's many challenges.  I’ve seen those who squandered their means, and then never had enough for the necessities.   Sometimes I thought life is like a cup of coffee.  It’s good while it’s hot.  When it had gone cold, it’s like for a moment or perhaps a long while we are into the depths of despair.  In the darkness, we struggle with difficult and often confusing feelings.  And these are all true human emotions, and necessary in enabling us to cope.
So this Christmas season, look around and see that gift that can't be bought. Create a tradition with your family or maybe with someone you love or with friends and do the unexpected: make someone's day, let a friend know you care, or greet a stranger with a warm smile. Give the gift that keeps on giving. It is open twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five days a year. It's a gift from your heart. It takes a single gift of kindness that has and will touch endless amounts of hearts forever.  After all, isn't that what Christmas is all about?
